deliveries and collections today...

delivered- facet pump and faulkner springs

swung by mothers and initial findings are sweet!!!

308.jpg

my (once 90mm internal) pug sport coilovers are now a much easier to obtain 2.5" internal springs..

and when i finished work i swung by BGCmotorsport for some bits for the fuel system..

310.jpg

left to right we have:

* 3x -6 and 1x -8 weld on fittings for the swirl pot

* 2x -6 bulkhead fittings which will go through the top plate of my tank (1 for return and 1 with pipe for pickup)

* 2x -6 fittings for the facet lifter pump

* 1x sytec filter c/w -6 fittings (and motorsport kitteh approval)

* tank breather + shut off valve (will also go in tank top plate)

309.jpg

bosch 044 pump with -8 fitting...

and finally... the start of my swirl pot...

311.jpg

once evrythings nailed in place i`ll worry about getting the lines made up....

pick up/return/breather fitted into the tank...

rear beam on...

front legs on...

rack + colomn on...

312.jpg

313.jpg

i then realise to get it on its wheels i need to fit new bearings... and if i fit new bearings i`ll have to strip them again when i come to powdercoat them.. tosser!

so the struts will be off for blast and p/coat this week... followed by new bearings and the ol girl can go back on its wheels....

hahahahaha many thanks...

i dont really like xxxx Vs xxxxx type threads.. (infact i foookin hate them)

but in this instance i have to admit the 205 has the edge in terms of "real" motorsport parts available and bolt in engine options...

unfortunatly when i was looking to buy either a 1.9gti or the 1.4xsi i started with the insurance folks soon made the decision for me...

well not a major step but a step none the less...

since i`ve cut most of the tunnel out to move seats closer to the middle of the car i`m now without the std seat fixings that i used to mount my bias valve on...

so....

1 bias valve bracket......

320.jpg

welded in place.....

Love the bonnet pic, nice work mate. Whats the plans for the car when it's up and running?

use it!!!

i want to see a bit of europe... the obligatory "ring" trip obviously... not to set my pants on fire with a hot lap but to simply do it...

i keep watching top gear and thinking how great a week long road trip with some mates would be...

stelvio pass... an after watching tonight..

romania suddenly appeals!

more purchases!!

as much as i loved the *no nonesense minimal as you like ignore the flapping* shenpar bootlid at the end of the day it is ONLY A SKIN therefore nothing seals.. and if i want to do some roadtrips in it its just asking for trouble..

so...

"some say he wipes his backside on pre-preg sheets of carbon fibre... others that his scrotum is machined from magnesium... all i know is.. he`s called BIC!"

hey presto 1 GRP carbon reinforced S2 bootlid....

IMG_0588.jpg

it means a swap to S2 rear lights but at least it`ll seal....

mister fink- cost of the tailgate?? not as much as most streamline stuff as its GRP rather than "satans loo roll" (carbon) and as i do a bit of welding/fab for him a bit of a deal was struck...

matt- engine will remin the 1.6 8v TU that shenpar built for me a few years ago but will now run on emerald management and gsxr1000 bodies instead of R6 carbs and a dizzy

when its ready?? lmao... it`ll be a while before i`m worrying about MOT`s.....

managed to draw up some door pulls today in CAD:

DOORPULL.jpg

providing they aint a silly price they`ll be done in mirror polished stainless steel with the LION etched on the surface...

very cool project here, i enjoyed following it so far. i would prefer even simpler door pull straps/loops, though.

i think they'd fit the car more than anything mirror polished and etched (and they might be even lighter )
