Will the oil temp, oil pressure, water temp sensors in the mi16 engine work together with the 205 gauges?

Or can I fit the sensors from the 205 engine?

Thanks

/Martin

The sensors are the same on both a 1.6/1.9 8v and a 1.9 Mi16, so you can use the Mi sensors just fine on the 205 gauges

There's no oil level gauge/feature on the 205 gauges so you can't use that sensor on the Mi16 engine, and the Mi16 wiring loom doesn't have a oil pressure gauge wire as standard, so you'll need to either add an additional wire, or use one of the "spare" wires for that instead and rewire appropriately. Other than that, it's straight forward and no issues at all.

Have a look at the pictures early on in my 2.2 16v project thread; they're all pictured there and it's not that difficult really. Top link in my signature. VVVV

On the block is oil pressure switch (for the light) and the oil pressure sender (for the guage - white plastic thing)

In the sump is oil temp

In the thermostat housing is ECU temp sender (has a 2 pin, clip on connector), the water temp sender (bigger of the 2 spade connectors) and water temp high warning light.

On the gearbox is the reverse light switch (not a sender I agree) and the CPS (same type of clip on connector as the ECU temp sender on a fly lead)

The AFM has only one multi-pin connector

The other connections are for the coil, the cold start valve, rev counter, earth, switched live and started solenoid.

That's everything I think, but the point is that the sensors on the engine itself are listed for you.
