Slick 50 Oil Treatment

Recommended Posts

yorkshirekowboy

hi,

i mate of mine who is a mechanic swears by this stuff. He has even put it into his 06 sti scooby. Reading the back of it, its teflon oil and it states it treats the engine, not the oil. Teflon is good for bottom end bearings etc. My mate said it made is engine quieter? Is this bull? Didnt want to put it into my mi if you guys have had bad experience with it.

regards

dan

It's not been highly regarded on here. Mine has a Slick 50 sticker on the slam panel, so guessing someone used to use it. I've never bothered and it runs fine 140k daily driver with regular changes, no substitute really.

adding teflon mean you're closing up the bearing clearances. not what you want to do on a properly built engine. I wouldn't use this kind of thing

This Slick 50 stuff is a triumph of marketing over function - It's amazing the amount of the people that fall for the total crap they say it will do. Snake Oil pure and simple, don't waste your money.

Probably the best decision you will make as far as your engine is concerned.. Good Quality oil

and regular change of it and Quality filter preferably pug 1s is your best course of action to

looking after your engine... :)
