Twin 45's Inlet Manifold Mi16.

Recommended Posts

SurGie

Here i have a MI16 twin 45 inlet manifold i use to use for my dellorto

carbs on my 20 ltr MI16 and am told it can be used for throttle bodies.

It has the servo line attachment as well and will be cleaned fully.

So my question is, what kind of price would this item go for ?

I was thinking of around the £100 mark, iv seen some on e-bay that are home made

by the looks of them, they are not the same as this one, and sell around the £70 mark.

I know people will pay as much as they want depending how much they need it etc.

Cheers...

Whatever you can get for it, it's not worth nearly as much as a decent Jenvey/Longman one though.

After searching the old receipts that the old owner kept, it was bought from Pug Performance for £260 in 2006, so

after its had a good clean should fetch around £100 mark easily.

I can't see how other inlets could be better ?

Is it length, width, or gas flowed that makes them better than this one ?

Try looking for a BX/405 then!

After ringing PP they said it must be a longmans as the MI16 manifold was a longmans and were bought together

with the carbs, links etc all one package, but there is just no marks on to say what make it is.

I tried searching BX/405 and nothing, longmans only seem to have mini stuff..

Does any one know if this would fit a set of 40's or is it just for 45's ?

Cheers

Yes ther pattern is the same, just have a big step in the diameters, but at least it's in the right direction, just not ideal.

As to echo it's not a Jenvey/longmans item would be cast in to it. it's one of the cheapy ones, however if it's been gas flowed/smoothed/whatever then it's no worse than the aformentioned item

Ok cheers James R.

I had thought gas flowed was when it is rough inside the inlet, to make the fuel flow more aggressive &

direct it more to the pistons, so to speak ?

I though there was not much difference to mine than say a longmans etc. Torque and BHP will differ

from the length of it, AFAIK.

You're the one that has it, so the only one that can answer it!! Why don't you measure it?

Its 6cm on one side and 8cm on the other side, inner length.

No i had it ages, it came with the 205 that had dellorto carbs with MI16 2.0 iron block.

Everything is gone now but i thought of keeping this for the track 205 car when i sort it

out, iv changed my mind now.

My Graphite needs to be fully sorted out 1st, engine and fully rust free body work.

Gasflowed is just a word meaning it flows better, and removing the std casing sh*t out the middle helps it. as for rough, it's like 800grit wet and dry rough, not cats tongue rough.

Ok thanks, it is only slightly rough and nothing like a cats tongue.

Just nooticed this post!!

You shouldn;t really fit 40's on a 16v so that sorts that one out, As said it looks like one I have here, Normally the ports don;t match up on the head the castings are that bad so this might have been worked on unless it was a good one.

That price is silly, A proper Jenvey one is only £200.00 new, the earlier design was 2 piece unlike Baz's one piece picture
