Mi16 Piston Rings And Oil Pump Chain

ive got the bottom end of my mi apart for a crank re-grind at the mo, its getting expensive now and i'd like someone "in the know" weather its worth doing the rings and the oil pump chain, the rings look ok and so do's the oil pump chain, i can just about afford to replace both but is there any point if they are good?? now i know your going to say while its apart then fix it but i could fix everything!! i.e oil pump, oil spray bars etc!! lol advice please!!!

Personally I would do the rings whilst you are at it, bear in mind the liners will need honing to go with new rings though. Oil pump chain I have never bothered replacing, just make sure there is nothing obviously badly worn.

ok no problem, just to refresh my memory from workshop days, is honing when you have a thing that go's into a drill and its like 3 "finger" type things that come off it and they each have grinding stone type things on them!! sorry if that sounds a bit vague!!!
