KAD do an aluminium one for £305, but I don't think it has timing teeth and the weight isn't shown on their website.

Yes, interesting to know how much a flywheel like this one will bring on fun :)

It's a TTV flywheel, The early ones were very poor and the couple I had to fit needed re-facing as the surface was rough and not even flat. I think the first from memory had the ring gear fail about 1 1/2 years later.

The later one's use a better quality steel now but having never seen one I cannot comment on them

The KAD one's only suit Carb or where you pick the timing up on the front pulley

To answer the question on gain - Yes it's very worth it, makes for a much more smooth and responsive drive, plus gear changes are smoother especially down the box, and you notice the difference in terms of improved acceleration in the first few gears. (I have a 4.1kgs Mi flywheel) Idle is not effected, nor do I slow down up hills where ever that BS came from

No timing teeth on the KAD one, and it weighs a mere 3.5kg :P

I have one here waiting to go in my 8v

This guy is also selling loads of them on the 306GTi6 forum. Haven't heard any complaints from there. No personal experience though.

A lightened std flywheel?? really depends how light you make the std item? Mine is a Std Mi flywheel thats been machined down to that weight, but the guy that does them isnt' about anymore

Personally given the choice I'd get a KAD one and move the timing wheel to the cambelt end.
