Rear Wheel Drive Gearbox

That would be the DW8 engine, which sits at a 15 degree angle, but looks almost the same as an XUD.

The FSO Polonez gearbox could well be the same as the LDV one as it sits under a weird angle in the FSO.

edit: added pics of Mi16 sitting upright in kitcar... I think the name of the kitcar was Pell Genesis.

That's the chassis one of our customers now owns. It was a Longman Mi16 IIRC, but he ditched it in favour of a 2.3 SRD Duratec and Colin made all the mounts, bell housing adapter, new floor etc. I did the wiring and some of the mapping. Really, really nice car, the attention to detail on the fabrication is phenomenal. He's had the odd FTD in it!

Trumpet back in case.

I have allways been told that the reason peugeot engines didnt end up in kit cars to much was because the engines are tall compared to a zetec or vauxhall red top engines if that makes sence.

Interesting Hilgie, you could happily see similar results from an Iron block XU really, possibly cheaper to build too, but the Duratec is slightly lighter and preferred choice for the engine builder (Mark Shillaber). I think he acquired the chassis minus engine. Altering it for the new engine was a massive job, bigger than expected I think!
