Uprated Oil Spring

ive got my engine in bits at mo while i get the crank re ground, i've see the uprated oil pressure springs on e bay for around £5 ish delivered, can anyone tell me how to check if the one i have is standad or uprated, also if the ones on e bay are ok/good? and finally if anyone can do these cheaper!!! thanks!!

which engine/oil pump do you have? I'd buy them from the dealers myself, they're about a quid from memory....

its mi16, as far as i know its a standad oil pump?? what do i ask for at main dealer because i dont want standad srping? is that part number you quoted for the uprated one? cheers ian

Yes that is the uprated one.

 

If the main dealer finds they are on back order, I have a few spare.

1.9 or 2.0 Mi? the 2.0 will be the 6 bar spring as standard.

The uprated spring was fitted as standard to later Peugeots. If you just give them the part number then you'll get the right one.

its a alloy block engine so i guess its the 1.9, so the part number as above is for a 2.0 mi, which is the "uprated 6 bar spring"? cheers

yup, the part number above is for the 6 bar spring found in pretty much all later XU engines :)

The on on ebay is an uprated spring. Dont know if its actually genuine Peugeot Sport Grp A spring, but its definitly a lot harder (and longer) than the standard one. Just changed mine a couple of days ago.

yeah, the ones on ebay for £10+ are the same as the ones sold by peugeot for £1.46....
