New Cambelt Fitted

hi all,

 

just fitted my new water pump and fitted a new cam belt, just wanting to see what you guys think of the tension of it across the two pulleys of my mi engine.

it looks slack but the one i took off was as slack as that but it was 3000k old.

too slack, looks like its going to fall off on its own

Quite slack by the looks of things.

Isn't the standard practice of checking tension done by the 'long' stretch of belt, not between the cams?
