Since then ive checked petrol it is getting to fuel rail at pressure, there is a spark, checked cap, rotor etc, tried tachemetric relay and a different ecu. checked all fuses, now im stuck. engine turns over when startingbut fails to fire, ? any help would be nice or a few pointers, cheers

Are injectors definately firing?

check for power at the injectors and coil, then as Alex said, check that they are actually being fired.

if it was injector problem would 1 down mean it wont start or would there be a chance all were not working ?

They are batch fired & fire together, i.e. all fire in one batch rather than sequentially.

This should mean that if one injector isn't firing they all won't. One injector could have a bad connection, or the one wire be damaged though, so if one works it isn't safe to assume they all do.

You can get an injector tester in the form of a plug in LED. It'll light up to show when gets voltage. I would still remove the fuel rail and check that the actual injectors themselves are firing and in a decent pattern.

Is on the back of the stat housing.

You have two there. One is the temp sender for the dash guage, the other is for ECU. Afraid I can't remember which is which as only run one on my car. Knowing this place by the time I replied to this you'll have all the info anyhow.

that is not 100% correct!

they sure are all at the same bank, but they are in parallel, this means if one of them has is shortened (0ohm), noone will fire. but if one is not plugged or high-ohm, the others keep firing!

the blue 2pin-connector (bosch-style) is the ecu tempsensor.

the other ones are 1-pinned and just for the dashboard.

That's right about the injectors. Late night and a few beers hasn't helped the thinking!

Grabbed two stat housing earlier and left confused.

One had 2 two pin sensors in, other holes blanked off.

Other had 1 two pin and 2 1 pin.

What are they all for?

the one with a pair of 2 pin sensors is probably the ZX volcane one that is for the MP3.1 parts you aquired ;)

the other one would be a 205 housing.

Doesn't help I got bits from 4 different XU9's (including the Volcane), a 2.0 Mi16 and a 1.9 Mi16 knocking about.

Going to be one hell of a skip full of usefull crap.
