Recommended Posts

Hi all

been having an issue recently. ive noticed that ive got a few flat spots at 2.5k to 3.5k then again at 5k just for a small spert

it only does it when the engine has warmed up and when the car is cold its fine but obveously i dont have the foot down when the cars cold.

im thinking maybe its the oil cooler?

It sounds as if you could have an electrical component breaking down. Ignition amp, coil, dizzy, leads, crank position sensor. Or it could be the A.F.M.

Is it missing or just lacking power. A trip to a rolling road could sort you out. Normally £50-£70.

all the above have been replaced within the last 6 months apart from the AFM, icv replaced, coolant system replaced.

ive had my doubts about the AFM for a while now as it was missing the front so kept gettign wet and idle was a pile of junck. found a cap for it and sorted the idle and now this issue.

im thinking its either the AFM or quite possibly Oil getting to hot? ive got no oil temp gauge so cant tell. pressure sits a tad lower than normal when warm but think that could eb something to do with a tiny leak i have by the cam cover
