Yes, without the 4, they're 8v's!

there is a code along those lines, there's the XU9Ja, 128 bhp non cat.

XU9JAZ which is the 122bhp cat 8 valve, XU9J4 which is the D6C 160 bhp Mi16, and the XU9J4Z, the DFW which is the low compression cat Mi16 engine, 148 bhp IIRC.

the mention of Cybernk is likely to be because of his twin Mi16 205, may well be a DFW or two in there

so basically the xu9j4 is 160bhp and the "z" engine is 148bhp, so next is how to tell?? i would guess mine is the normal 160bhp??

check the engine number tag, you'll either see D6C or DFW, also the engine management differs, I think DFW has knock sensor and Lambda.

I've seen XU9J4/K too. Maybe that's the Knock sensor engine we had.

Xu9J4Z 148bhp

What are these XU9J4Z engines producing without the cat fitted? I would have thought some horses will be released when removed, the same way the 155bhp 2.0Mi is quoted with cat fitted.

Yes but you'd still have a lower compression that the D6C.

Apparently the DFW XU9J4Z Mi16 engine Ive bought made 155bhp with a K&N filter and a Maniflow 421 manifold
