Springs Mystery

Recommended Posts

I've found, through experimenting (oo, err, etc :D) that the best combination for me is powerflex bushings, strut brace, and standard springs and dampers. I had a decent set of Pi springs in there but they just made the (brilliant) ride far too crashy.

So I went out and picked up a set of '205 GTi' springs off this 'ere website, forget from who. Now the funny thing is, the back beam in my car, which was set to factory height, seems absolutely perfect, in terms of stance and ride, but the front of the car is about 3" too high :D

Struts are factory items (the bright blue ones), but seriously, my car looks like it's permanently accelerating even when it's parked up :D

Any ideas? Did I buy diesel springs by accident? Where's the best place to pick up a set of new factory springs? Anyone got a set of decent factory springs for sale? :)

I swapped my front struts on the Turbo Diesel for GTI jobbies, and they did indeed lower it around 30mm, so i should think you have picked up some diesel springs.
