Do I Need To Replace The Rocker Gasket?

Hi guys,

 

Whilst on my hols ive been thinking may be clean that stainless steel rocker cover up.

 

 

I want to polish up the rocker cover and the best way is to take it off.

 

My ? is do i need to replace the rocker gasket if i take the cover off?

It looks that way, i think its been chromed or something, may be polished up before.

its aluminium, plenty of elbow grease and autosol will refresh it.

I guess it's a TU engine then which are normally tin as these are the only engine's with Rocker gear fitted in the current 'ish' Pug range,

But regardless of that it is worth changing as the seals do shrink
