Turbo Results

Recommended Posts

Tom Fenton

After my results on the rollers the other day it has struck me that I don't think I've seen the power being made by other turbo cars on here, and I guess I don't really know how many turbo cars are out there?

So, just really out of curiousity, those of you out there running turbocharged 205's, what are you managing, and a basic spec?

I'll start,

POWER-BHP 195 BHP @ FLY

TORQUE-FTLB 205 FTLB @ FLY

BASE ENGINE 205 GTI 1600 8v

TURBOCHARGER GARRETT T25

MANAGEMENT DTA E48

This isn't meant as a discussion thread, it is really out of interest as to what others have achieved. All the info about mine is on my build thread.

<_<

A challenge that.

I believe Tom is asking purely for you to submit your spec/stats as Tom has for direct comparison. God help you if you talk about it (which I read as make excuses because his is so f*cking awesome! :P )

You've been warned; twice!

I think everyones cars are discussed at length in other threads so there is no point revisiting that, I was just interested to see who else has had decent power from turbo XU motors, as a lot of people seem to regard them as not worth the effort.

In a mild state of tune on a freshly built engine 16v I did 230 atw at 8psi. since then been running a more aggressive tune and 12-14 psi..Dyno is down so dont know how much yet but feels a big difference from 8 psi.

Very impressive figures for a 1.6 we only managed 215bhp and similar figure in torque with a 2.0ltr, we did find out afterwards however that the head gasket had gone between the two middle cylinders and that the bores were completely worn and past it,Have since rebuilt it with forged pistons just waiting for some bigger injectors and then its off for another remap

Your making 230bhp from 7psi???

So another 80bhp from purely aftermarket management and a tiny bit more displacement???? I didn't think the standard injectors could even fuel for that much bhp.

If you had said 1 bar I would have still been very impressed but 0.5 bar, that would mean running 1 bar even assuming crap effciency from the turbo you would be up at 280bhp easy.....hmmm
