Oil Sensor Screws Into Gti6 Sump (help)

Recommended Posts

tombo

hello,

i have just put the baffled 306 gti-6 sump onto my mi16 engine, however when i went to put the oil temp sensor into the gti6 sump the threads were wrong. i have tried several motor factors local to source a new one.

does anyone know where i can get a new sensor to suit the gti6 sump? and if so do you know a part number, cost etc?

many thanks

tom

You need the later sender, 0242-81, about £16 from Pug.

unfortunatly peugeot only sell this item for 42.58 problem is, the connection for the mi16 oil temp switch is single pin. and the gti6 oil temp switch has a 2-pin connection.

has anyone used a gti6 sump on an mi16 alloy block engine and loom before, if so what oil temp switch did you use. im close to taking the gti6 sump back off and using the mi16 one which would be a bitter disapointment as i wanted the baffled sump <_<

thanks

tom

Thats wierd, only charged me £16.

Cut the plug off and crimp a ring terminal on.

That part number is for a late model 205 sender.

0242-81 is a late 205 GTI sender. Same thread as GTI6 sump, M14 I think.

Has a screw terminal that will go on your wiring, M4 thread.

This does fit and works with original gauge.
