[project] 309 Turbo Cup

Recommended Posts

sander swinkels

Allright, as can be read here I've bought a '88 Peugeot 309 Turbo Cup car.. It's a very unique car, there's only 1 in The Netherlands as far as I've ever known and I think that there are about 10 left in France..

On the following pictures you can see how they were in the past, '88 - '91..

309_GTIT_AVG.jpg

309_GTIT_int.jpg

I've bought the car from a guy who owned it for 6 -7 years.. It has always been in a shed.. Except for the first 9 months or so that he owned it.. He has bought it from a french guy, where it also has been in a shed..

the car is in very good condition, very little rust.. We think that there only has been driven 3 years with this car.. From '88 until '91..

Soon it will come to me, 11-07-2009.. And then I can finally go work on my "dream-309".. I've seen such a car ones before in my life.. And I loved it right away..

The car comes with:

- Group A PTS frontshocks with camberplates.

- Group A PTS rearshocks.

- 315 mm frontbrakes.

- Polyester bumpers and tailgate.

- Polycarbon side-windows.

- Speedline SL341 PTS rims (15" x 7")

- and a lot more..

It's also fully seamwelded..

Example:

doorlassen.sized.jpg

It became a very light-weight car because it's missing some parts:

- no elektric windows.

- no locks.

- no central doorlocking.

- no headlights.

- no turnsignals.

- no rear wiper.

- no heater

- single front wiper.

Result: 770 - 780 kg..

So far the story.. Soon it will continu..

Here are some pictures of the car.. There from last week.. 03-06-2009..

It comes with the following specific items:

- Group A PTS front shocks (new)

- Group A PTS rear shocks

- AP racing 315 mm braking discs (new)

- Polyester front bumper (new)

- Polyester rear bumper

- Wheels, 15" x 7J PTS SL431

- Polycarb windows except front and rearwindscreen

- Polyester tailgate

- dashboard

- original single wiper system

- hood (very, very light), it's only the outher sheetmetal.. there's no frame in it anymore

- original 309 turbo cup mirrors

And more.. the car was fully loaded with parts (205 / 309), but not everything comes with the car.. So we have to sort things out..

:):P

As soon it comes to me, it will be rebuild.. So that everything can be made, like it was, when the car was raced with.. This will take a few year minimum I guess..

already bought some parts this week..

- 1.9 8v 122hp engine

- 1.9 16v flywheel

- 405 Mi16 radiator (testmodel)

And then, when the build is complete, it will be stripped, sprayed and build again.. And then its finished.. Wheels will be powdercoated in white.. Al the parts like subframe, brackets will all be powdercoated in black..

Love the mirrors, surprised the panels are metal as the weight is so low 770kgs is it?

I'll make a project topic as soon as it comes to me.. 11-07 It's coming my way..

The weight is 770kgs, that's right.. But the tailgate is polyester, front and rearbumper also, the're both snap-off. The bonnet is completely stripped. No frame. It weights really nothing, unbelieveble.

The side-windows are all plexiglass, or something like that.

There's is nothing in the doors.

It has just 1 bucketseat.

There are also no headlights, no fogglights, just 2 little lights in the bumper.

Also no radiatorhousing, just 2 fans.

No rear wiper.

It all counts. So that's why the car is so light. All the little things make a lot of weight.

Doorpanels inside are made of aluminium.

@Redtop: I have no idea which dashparts comes with the car.. The dashboard is in the car.. But I think that there are no gauges in it.. The outher emergency button is still on the car..

@Gentry_Ba: indeed, these rims are the "special" version of the SL434.. These Rims are the SL431: 7" x 15".. Very exclusive I guess.. I don't know if they were only used in this 309 Turbo Cup..

@Edbar: what exactly do you mean? My english isn't that well. Don't understand what you mean. Sorry :)

The front of the car needs some welding.. I want to drive it on the road, for some shows, and also on the circuit.. But right now ,it's not possible to put in some headlights or turnsignals.. So that's gotta be fixed..

Sander

@Nikicia, I can't edit my first post.. I would like to change the text please.. Can you fix that? Or do I have to mail you the text, so that you can edit it?

I have a set of SL 431's and the guy I bought them from had got them from a 405.

But they seem to be very rare. Had a norwegian guy that offered me £1000 for them. :)

Uwe Gropp can tell you a lot about those 309´s , he was rallying with a Gr. A 309 GTI 16V for a few years till he switched to a Gr. A 306 Kit Car and now a Citroen C2R2.

He´s living just half an hour away from me.

He has got a lot of parts left from his 309 Gr.A, just ask him
