Couple Of Parts Queries

Recommended Posts

jason7579

I have a 1.9 205 GTI which is my daily run around and I am trying to get it back into a decent condition. I am slowly replacing or gettinng parts that need changing or are missing.

I am missing the little plastic clip that attaches to a little bracket and holds the fuel pipe that runs from the fuel filter to the (fuel rail???) Its a bracket close to the fuel pressure regulator. (apologies if I have got any names of parts wrong).

Also I will be replacing the rocker cover gasket and the 3 bolts that hold the rocker cover down (and washers, o-rings etc). I currently have 1 normal bolt on it (I think it had the number 88 on it) and 2 bolts that are sort of double sided (like a security bolt for a car radio). The man at the dealers couldn't find any of the double sided bolts so I just got 3 normal bolts. Can anyone tell me if this is ok? What are the top threads suppose to be for?

Also if anyone can provide me with parts numbers for plastic clip, rocker bolts, o rings and washers needed I would be very grateful. The man in the dealers checked service box website but we couldn't find them. Also the service box website only pictured 2 bolts for rocker cover.

Thanks

Hi Jason,

Why do you need to replace the cam cover bolts?! For your info, the external threads are to retain the plastic "guide" for the ignition leads, & for tabs that hold wiring in place.....so not essential, but if you're missing the HT lead guide, might be best to get one to keep things tidy & leads separated. Sorry can't help with part numbers..good luck with getting car sorted.

Thanks Lagonda. My car doesn't have the plastic guide for the HT leads so they will be another thing to add to the 'to buy' list.

I thought I'd replace the bolts as they are only a couple of £ and I am replacing the rocker cover gasket anyway (oil leak around the current one).

I finally found a pic of the clip I want

Any idea of a part number or the name of the clip? Also the name and part number of the ht lead guide - I've looked on servicebox and can't find either

Thanks
