205 Rear Mount Turbo Rolling Road

Recommended Posts

Hi

got the 205 on the rollers at last. 176hp @ 0.5 bar (engine was 121 hp with no turbo). Pleased with result as that is only a touch off the estimate. what i can't work out though is why the rolling road operator used hardly any throttle until very late in the rev range so instead of a proper power and torque curve i have hardly any power and torque until about 5000rpm when full throttle is clearly engaged. I spoke to them and they said it was traction problems?

anyone ever had a dyno run with the same experience? (eg at 4000 rpm 100lb ft of torque !!!)

cheers

Good result, especially with only 0.5 bar boost pressure, I bet you are pleased with that.

As for traction, I'd have thought they could have strapped it down enough to get traction, but who knows.

not as pleased as you must be with that ^ "standing 1/4 in 12.17 sec @ 120mph "

Im pretty sure it is this 205 we are talking about.

What did you decide on the boost control front in the end Veloce?

never got round to boost control - only a bleed valve which is why we didn't push beyond 0.5 bar at redline as the boost spikes were getting out of hand.

they revved it out to 7300 rpm (where it was still making 155hp )which i suppose shows it doesn't alter the character of the engine.
