hi all,

im after a little help, il soon be getting my hands on a mi16 2row loom and ecu to get rid of the dizzy adaptor im running with standard 1.9gti loom at the mo! just need to no what part of the loom i can take out and save on the weight side of things. dash is already out so whilst its in the state its in any cables not needed can go  .

im i right in saying that most/all the wiring going to the ecu under steering colume can go?

also what is the best radiator to go for other than the radtec which is out of my price range. are the 205 td rads any better than 205 gti 1.9 rads? im running carbs if that makes any difference.oh i will also be lowering the rad once iv chosen the one best fit for the job, thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any help :(

No you cant cut all the wires going to the ECU. You need to find the brown multiplug in your 205. In my car (left hand driven) the brown multiplug is in the passenger side (right side) down by the left foot. You can find en my16 wiring guide somewhere on here. It tells which wires does what in the brown multiplug. Then you can connect the wires regarding the ignition side of things. Eveything regarding injection can be left out since you are running carbs.

Just fitted a bmw rad to my 309 which is way thicker than the pug item, leaves room for an inlet filter and also room for a vertical oil cooler. Plus it has the inlet and outlet in the correct place.

as mentioned above im going for the 2row mi16 loom soon, but have just read up about that i hav to have an mi16 flywheel to pick up tdc? is this right if so how can i tell what flywheel/clutch i have, i know i a 1.6gti gearbox and there is a sensor on the housing on top of the fly wheel which i presume is the tdc sensor which to my knowledge has never been pluged in to any where, which is the main reason im changing the loom as im sick and tried of popping the bonnent to see loose sensors/cable not actually doing anything. could anyone help with the fly wheel issue i have??
