If I needed to replace my ECU, it has the 162 printed on it. is this likely to be a two or three row ECU? Luggy is trying to help me out now with my non start problem.

According to ATP's listings its a;

BX 1.9 litre 8 Valve Cat/309 GTi 1.9 litre 8 Valve/ Bosch Motronic 1.3 0 261 200 162

the Motronic 1.3 listed for a 205 is 160

Late model Motronic 205's sold in Australia, had both 160 and 162. Absolutely no difference other than part number. Both are Motronic 1.3 (3 row). I have a couple of each if you need one.

If fault finding, you can also fit a 3 row from an Mi16. eg 158/161/354/355. It will register a fault, as no knock sensor is fitted, but it will start and drive (with fault mode ignition timing).
