What Disks Fit Willwood Calipers?

Recommended Posts

andychalmers

I need some new brake disks as mine have cracked. Currently running 285mm (I think) Willwood 1 piece drilled vented disks, Willwood Dynalite 4 pot calipers. I have 1900 hubs & shafts. I am going to replace with non drilled disks as drilled ones seem to crack on my rally car. I can get them from Rally Designs for about £70 each. Just wondered if I can get any direct replacement disks cheaper from a production car such as a 307 etc as surely these will be cheaper.

Cheers.

I have just measured my willwood conversion disks.

285mm Diameter

19mm thick but prob 2 mm wear in total so say 21mm

33mm offset (measured by placing disk on floor, then measuring floor to top of bell housing).

Pad area on disk is 53mm

So who knows what standard Peugeot disk may fit?

Some time ago, there was big brake conversion available that spaced out the 1.9 Girling caliper to accept 285mm discs but with standard width. Not sure what the offset was but I think C_W managed to utilise some re-drilled R21 discs for the same purpose.

Surely, a modification to the Wilwood caliper spacer is all thats needed to cater for change in offset? I know Rally Design have a selection of spacers and using the Brakes International site (which gives you disc dimensions), you may be able to select an appropriate disc to suit.

307 discs are 283mm diameter, 26mm wide and 34.3mm overall height (back of disc to hub face). So not far off but are too wide. Could you reface the pads a little?

If you PM 'Welly' over on the gti6 site, he has spacers that mate the wilwood midilites up with standard gti6 discs, although I'm not sure if he actually has any left.
