Mi16 - Not Running Well

Recommended Posts

Simes

Well - the reshell is getting there and after finally having the time to assemble my new exhaust I was able to test the car out.

It idles well as can be expected but any large input from the throttle makes either the revs drop or it is very hesistant to react.

When driving it on he road again it doesn't like throttle load. If I accelerate hard it will get to around 4k and then it's almost as if the limiter kicks in. But it will accelerate further up the rev range if throttle input is very minimal. However it does feel strangled and laboured when accelerating.

When I swapped this engine out from my wrecked car all I disconnected electrics wise was the ECU and fed that end of the loom through the bulkhead. Nothing else from the engine has been disconnected.

I'm at a bit of a loss at the moment and with working away a lot from home my rebuild schedule has fallen a bit behind so any input would be useful.

Thanks.

Would be worth swapping the ignition amp and coil over to eliminate that but sounds like ecu temp to me.

Try cleaning up your gearbox earth point also.

Although I think I know what it is there aren't enough hours in the day at the moment for me to try things out.

How frustrating!

Time at last to mess around.

Replugged the HT leads at the plug end.

Replugged the AFM.

Sweet.
