Missing Bolts - What Size?

Recommended Posts

The Arch Bishop

Can anybody give me an idea of the size bolt I need to fix the assembly that contains the ecu temp sensor and the sad valve to the side of the thermostat housing? Have been searching Service Box for ages (I can usually find stuff on there) but just can't see it. A size or a service box part number would be great!

To clarify, piccy below!

been a while since I removed the SAD, so not 100%,

could be a pair of M6 bolts, or meant to be M8 studs and nuts.

6918 25 CAPSCREW DIAM 6X100-14

6962 90 SPRING WASHER 6X18-1,5

or

4602 05 STUD 8X125-19-15-15

6932 38 HEXAGONAL NUT DIAM 8X125-6,5

6962 13 FLEXIBLE WASHER 8X17-0,8

have you checked the size of the hole in the bracket?

Hmmm... Think it's likely the bolts but not sure. The thread opening has a chamfered edge and looks quite large but the thread is smaller so could be M6. Also, doesn't look like a typical application for studs but then it is French... <_<

A micrometer (finally had a reason to use it) gives the bracket hole size as 9mm but the thread is much smaller.

Can anybody do a visual check for bolts vs studs and let me know?

Thanks for the part numbers welshpug. It'll be one or the other!

Phase 1's use studs from the look of my two, the newer engine I have had bolts <_< Doesn't really matter though

Fantastic, thanks for the help guys! Don't like having the assembly supported by hoses only.

Pretty sure its the M8 stud for that type of CTS housing with a 13mm nut.

4602 05 STUD 8X125-19-15-15

6932 38 HEXAGONAL NUT DIAM 8X125-6,5

Graham.

Hi Graham, thanks for confirming that for me. Used the part numbers to search for the diagrams and it would appear that the bolts are for the securing the bracket to the SAD housing and the studs secure the bracket to the thermostat housing. The diagrams are less than perfect sometimes but it's 100 times better than nothing at all!

Once again, thanks for all the help!
