We need a bit more info Stu. Does it use the 8v dizzy converter? Mi dizzy? Coil pack? We don't know what factors are involved.

I'd start with a simple CAS swap. 5 minute job. May solve all of your woes, or be something you can strike off the list.

Yes. Crank Angle Sensor = same thing.

Tried the CPS in my car, still has the same problem. I put the HT lead tester between the dizzy and the coil and it just lights up once then goes off. Very annoying.

Anyone got any fresh ideas?

Tried:

CPS

Coil

Ign amp

checked rotor arm and dizzy cap both look fine.

people have had this problem previously... think bennet418 was one of them, someone definitly solved it though.

Yes, Lukes 205 was doing this. I went round his a couple of times with a running Mi16 and swapped EVERY component between them and the problem stayed with Lukes 205. The only thing I didn't swap was the loom, I did take one round there to swap but was too short of time and Luke ended up breaking it so we never did get to the bottom of it. Its safe to say its a wiring issue though I think.

I've swapped all the major things so i guess its down to the loom. I'll have a check through it all and worst case scenario is trying a different loom i guess.
