Breather System

I'm missing a couple of bits for my engine, and I don't think there's an off the shelf solution, with me using an 8v bottom end and gti6 head, the gti6 breather pipe won't fit the 8v block without modification and the 8v breather includes the filler bottle thing, which 1) isn't needed due to the oil filler being in the rocker cover on the new head and 2) it will be in the way of the inlet and intended boost pipe position.

I was planning on making my own pipe work, but, is it all needed? On this photo,

I'm guessing that 'B' is the return path, but what is 'A'? Is it an inlet or outlet, with it being so far from the sump I'd guess at an outlet.

Should I aim for something "factory" looking, or are there improvements to be made?

Thanks,

Rob

Cant be 100% sure from the picture but "A" looks like where the dipstick is supposed to go, "B" is the oil filler.

Both A and B are breather holes, the dipstick goes about half way between the two.

B was the oil filler on the 8v engine, but on the gti6 the oil filler is in the rocker cover, and with me using a gti6 head B won't be the filler anymore, but on the gti6 setup, there's a pipe that goes from A to B and to a breather pipe on the rocker cover, I can't use the gti6 setup because the pipe at A is different.

What I need to know is, is the standard gti6 setup as good as it can be, with me needing to make something, do I copy the original design or do I do things a bit/lot different?
