Reving To High When Warm.

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I've a 205 1.9 gti phase 2.

The problem ive got is i start her from cold up at two thousand rpm, then after 4 mins idles down great about a thousand.

Then i drive her down the road then come to a junction shes idleing at two thousand revs, ive had a new ecu temp sensor and ive checked the inlet for any leaks or air,

ive also fiddled with the idle screw with no joy.

So if any one can tell me what to do next would be great? regards dave. ;)

Plenty of threads on idling issues if you search :)

Check oil cap and breather pipes for damage, clamp the pipe from SAD valve and see if idle drops, take off throttle body and clean it up inside, check throttle cable is not too tight or sticking.

More detailed answers avail if you use search function :D

Ive now checked all the pipes and there in good nick?

Whats the tiny little screw for on the sad valve for?

Not the idle screw the smaller one?

By the throttle body?

Sort of sorted this problem, i know whats happening.

When i put my foot to the floor the peddle sticks down for about 2 secs.

Had a look under bonnet has to the throttle body the caseing that holds the cable keeps popping out of the hole,

Hard to describe but the black bit thats the adjusting bit inside that?
