Recommended Posts

Looking at buying one for the engine. I understand the alloys fit also. What other parts can be used on my 205?

Thanks

I wouldn;t bother really, The S16 is the least powerfull lump that can be fitted, Both the Mi16 and GTi6 engine's are much better and for about the same money

Parts that can be fitted are the wheels, Steering wheel and thats about it, the rest is scrap

I had seen one advertised with only 65k on the clock so was tempted. I thought the brakes might have been an upgrade. The spec is pretty impressive shame the seats don't fit:

(bhp should be 150/ 155)

Better off with a 306 as a Base, Brakes and engine are allot better as is the managment and you don;t have the horrid Inlet system the S16 has

Miles I understand your frustration with the ACAV system , but I would not slag these engines off. Their pricetag is quite reasonable and when in good nick they are great engines. I agree the GTi6 (RFS) engine is better, but the S16 engine has a nice powerband and does quite well in a 205. When you are really fed up with the ACAV you can always replace the inlet manifold with that of a Mi16 or GTi6 engine.
