Heater Plastics Under The Dash

Recommended Posts

mattw

I've been removing stuff from my dash today and have decided my heater and everything associted with it is no longer needed.

I have taken out the fan, matrix and controls but am still left with a large plastic housing.

My question is whether or not this can be removed (easily!!) or is it integral to the whole dashboard? It looks pretty solid and I don't really want to go cutting it up.

Cheers

Assuming the heater is the same between 205 and 309 then yes the whole assembly comes out.

It is held in by 5 nuts - 1 underneath which holds the strengthening plate that goes from the bottom of the bulkhead to the heater, then two each side. 1 goes vertically and 1 goes horizontally. You would need to take the dash. In addition the heater controls would go with the heater, they're not rigidly attached but linked by the cables for adjusting air outlet etc. Wiring wise, there is one plug that goes to the controls and 2 that go to the fan (but I guess you've removed these already).

Someone will confirm this for you I'm sure.
