Parts Exchange: Gti-6 Exhaust To 1,9 Mi Head - Does It Fit?

Recommended Posts

if above fits - is there any gains? - I heard the gti-6 exhaust manifold flows better while still improving low end torque?

any experience of it fits in the enginebay of a 205? :-)

thx in advance

I don't think its a good idea to be honest, the manifold may well flow better but since the Mi16 head has twin ports and the GTi6 doesn't you'll get a butt-load of turbulence around the ports which may well negate any potential benefits.

I think maxi did this on one of his older engines?

I made a thick wedge which both matches the ports and gets the angle correct. It's a lot of work for arguably little gain. I think you're much better spending the money on some quality pipes if you're chasing hp. The diameter of the pipes is a tad small, although this engine makes approx. 220hp.

Yeah I did it on my old 2.1 engine. That was on a 1900 mi head, so even the stud pattern didnt line up. A LOT of work, but it did make 216BHP and 174Ibft.

If your car is Left hand drive then a GTi16 manifold would be direct fitment?
