Xu 10 Alternator Fit A Mi16 Engine

hi as above, its from a 306 2.0 8v, juts wanting to know if it would fit.

just look at the mounting points fella

 

if the are the same angles on the alt it will be fine

depends which Mi16 you mean, I know they'll fit the iron block.

a guys selling one, can see it celarly in the picture. im sure the 8v xu10 are fine, its the xu10 16v ones that are different casing

They certainly fit 1.6/1.9 8v's as I fitted one to my last 205, so I don't see why it wouldn't fit a 1.9 Mi16 as well (given than an 8v alternator will fit)

 

You'll need to either swap the main power feed cable or change/enlarge the ring terminal on the end, as the XU10 alternators have a thicker stud meaning the XU5/XU9 cable won't fit over. Also, from memory the warning lamp wire is a ring rather than spade connector, but that's easy enough to sort out.

 

XU10 16v alternators are a different fitment.
