dk73 1 Posted May 15, 2009 Hi people. Just got these off the old flee bay and im very pleased with them. Any idea what the two thin blue lines are for or can i take them off? They're on there for a reason I think to do with headlamp glare? I dont know so if any one can enlighten me with comments or views. Pics below. Regards Dave. dk73 1 Posted May 15, 2009 Are they sticker's ? If not youl have to keep them on i think. No pal, there painted on the inside, i can get them off with preptone and it will not damage the plastic.

omega 82 Posted May 17, 2009 there not on the original pug ones agree the pug ones have the pug lion on
MrG 3 Posted May 17, 2009 probably a styling thing as opposed to a glare thing, as they'll do nothing that low down to prevent blinding oncoming traffic! Are they just clear units if so I'd take them off personally
jeremy 70 Posted May 17, 2009 It is obvious really when you come to think about it. They make the light travel faster from your bulbs to the road.
MrG 3 Posted May 17, 2009 A sort of go faster stripe you mean! I have pug ones on mine, no marks other than the lion. Certainly save the headlamp from possible stone chip damage.

MrG 3 Posted May 17, 2009 I got mine off here a few months back, and my car is used mainly on track but they weren't in the best of condition (as in not mint) when bought, but they do the job admirably
jimistdt 1 Posted May 17, 2009 Just an eighties thing then? Everything had stripes on in the eighties. Is there a date on the instructions at all?
Henry Yorke 269 3 Cars Posted May 17, 2009 There are a couple of types of Pug ones, some with two thin black stripes and some without. You can even get some with a Mardi Gras sticker on them. I have a couple of sets but not a matching pair It is now probably cheaper to buy a new light unit than replace a headlight! I did have a couple of sets of new ones but got offered decent money (and I was buying some other wheels at the time) for them so they went. There are some aftermarket ones out there and I think these may be some. I have seen sets with stripes all the way up the lense before
mattbenselin 0 Posted June 11, 2009 Just become the proud owner of these beauties. Following on from your intial enquiry, what do you think to the stripes? They are thin and black and have an EGR plastics logo in the middle. Ideally I would like to remove all this so they are clear. What would be the best stuff to get the paint off without scratching the plastic?
dk73 1 Posted June 11, 2009 Where you had them from? besides to removing the paint i tried autosmarts preptone. Id done one and it took me an hour. Half way doing the last one i put a bit to much pressure in one of the weak spots on the cover and complety cracked it. So just watch what you do.
mattbenselin 0 Posted June 11, 2009 They were had off eBay but (as marked on them) they are from/made in Australia. As stated before they have a few thin stripes, the EGR logo as can be seen and on the end in front of the indicator there is a 205 logo. They are thick too (3mm) and seem very well made, but if it's not an easy job I may just leave them, at least I would like to get rid of the EGR logo. stufarri 98 3 Cars Posted June 12, 2009 They were had off eBay but (as marked on them) they are from/made in Australia. The genuine ones I got from the dealers 12 months ago are from Australia too - seems a strage place to make them?
