Guys Following on from my thread a few days ago regarding my oill leak i have, it used a litre in 120miles, well i suspect very little of the litre i put in actually made it into the engine!

Thread link

Here is the underside of the car at present. - at least it wont rust!

I think i have nailed the cause of the problem

split.jpg

What a s*ite design of pipe, look how badly it has split, this split was behind the protective sleeve.

This is the pipe that comes from the oil filler down to the block just above the sump.

Is this the pipe i can get from Miles or BakerBM?

In addition to my oil leeak i had a bit of a high idle which pints towards air getting into the system and bypassing the AFM.

Now thiat split could be causing excessive air to be drawn in on the wrong side of the AFM right? Air drawn in, up to the filler pot, then down the small pipe from the lid of the filler pot and into the throttle body on the plenum side of the butterfly - right?

In addition to this i also found this which isnt going to help things on the idle front - if my theory of air flow through the breathers is correct.................

It looks like the plastic neck has snapped off and some gimp has wedged a bit of plastic pipe in there to attach the breather to, its a bit loose so it too will be drawing air in - right?

Anyone know of anyone making / selling these filler funnels apart from the main stealers?

Here it is again in all its glory!

I have taken off the SAD and all the associated pipework, as well as all the breather pipe work, can anyone point me to a thread detailing how to clean and bench test the SAD unit - or can it only be done on the car?

I could also do with a drawing of the breather pipework / SAD pipework so i can put it back to gether again! I have a good idea and too some photos during the dismantling but i wouldnt put it past it that it was not right when i took it apart.

Also i looked into the throttle bosy and the butterfly is not badly crudded up, but i notice that when i hold it up to the light i can see daylight almost all the way round the butterfly, should it be completely sealed or not?

I know there are a lot of questions there but im sure most of you will have experienced the same problems and will know the answeres off the top of your head.

Thanks for your patience!

I bought one from BBM & the pipe doesn't sit well at all, not shaped quite like the standard one. Not sure if this is just a one off, but it's make me think twice about where to buy.

Unfortunately I'd had it for ages before it went on the car so no idea where receipt might be.

I spoke to the spotty oik at my local dealers today who thinks that a 206 is a classic car and he gave me a price of £14 odd, im not convinced its the right pipe he is on about though, anyone else got any dealer prices for it?

I've got the BBM pipe and I'm happy with it.
