it'll still be setting car alarms off at idle

:)

P.S. The loom wasn't partially pre-built, although the 4 coil plugs had pigtails on.

When I mention the DIYAutotune loom, all it is is a bundle of 12feet of coloured and labelled wires. There are no connections at all.

I made the Emerald connector, and then wherever possible re-use OE connectors from cars, e.g. injector looms and plumb them in. So on the car are 2 injector looms (4 x JPT connectors = 8 wires each set, already joined by the manufacturer into a 3 pin plug) and then make a plug to join them into my loom.

I hope that's clear as mud.

Here are the pics of the finished install.

It'll have a grille soon to protect the rad from stones.

Excellent stuff

Only thing I;d say about the ECU is the location, Not sure on the IP rating of the Emerald but it's never looked that great to me

Must admit, the front spoiler is growing on me.

Yep me too, I thought you'd locate this inside, especially in the orientation it's at. Are you planning to cover that up?

Really good thread though, spurring me on.

Yep, liking the front spoiler - especially knowing that it's not just for cosmetic purposes.

Whole car's looking fantastic :)

Looking good Rich but I would have to agree with the other comments. Any motorway spray will be in there like swimwear.

Big thumbs up with the progress though cocker, have to have a meet up when mine is done.

How much wider is the front track compared to the rear. It looks a lot but it may just be the pictures???

One other little thing Rich, are you going to use that fuel pump inertia switch? Just a little of my experience that on a lowered, stiff motor, they set off REALLY easily, especially those old 306 ones.

Not knocking it, just thought id mention my run in with them.

Not just the 306 ones the 406 ones are almost as bad, On my old one went over a pot hole and the engine cut out, DOH

Thanks for the comments.

The ECU will be protected have no fear.

Now have 2mm spacers for the front.

I haven't driven it yet. The inertia trip switch never sprang in that location on Evo I, but points taken again and I will be taking spares plus a bypass joiner just in case.

RR and road mapping in about a week.

Great car, so many nice little touches, some of which I might borrow!

Might be a stupid question, but what engines / cars did the oil filler and fuse box come from, they'd do me nicely!

Mad. :D

Fuse box is from a Xsara but most PSA cars have them.

S16 oil filler stack.

Shame this Joe character's used my topic in his rampage to get 30 posts to sell whatever he has to sell.

Rich do you have any pictures of the underside of the rear of the car? How are the trailing arms held into the beam tube if there's no torsion bars to hold them in place? :)

Makes me wish i had the funds to build an awesome 205 rather than blow it on child care! Once its on the road, a Curry/chinky meet will need to be organised ;)

Al :)
