Gti6 Cam Pullies.

Recommended Posts

Im swapping to the earlier style 3 bolt pullies on my GTI6 engine. Ive got the outer pulleys that the belt sits on, and an assortment of inner hub rings that they attach to (via the three bolts).

What i need to know is what number is stamped into the '6 ones? Much like an MI pulley they all have different numbers and timing settings for the different engines in the range. I know both '6 ones are the same, and i *think* they should be stamped up '4'.

Maybe someone knows or has a set laying about to reference? I cant get them from Pug either as they have been discontinued which is a bit annoying as they werent mega expensive and il only need 1 (ive got one each of 1, 2, 3, 4 already).

Cheers.

Dan, they're the same as J4R exhaust cam pulleys hubs so quite plentiful, marked 4  the outer pulley itself is the same on the XU7 too but not the hubs, the ones marked 1, 2 3 and 4 respectively are XU7J4 inlet, 7J4 exhaust, 10J4R inlet, 10J4R exhaust and 10J4RS Inlet + exhaust.

Figured that out from the Haynes manual!

From very rough workings out last week the J4R No3 inlet cam hub is advanced 6 ish degrees over the RS.

Right, yes it was a J4R i pulled the number 4 ive got off of. Confusingly though, it was a J4R i got the 1 and 2 ones off too, looks like someone had the wrong pullies on their engine or something!
