hi guys,

wasnt sure where its best to post this so thought i would try and here. please move if its in the wrong section. Anyway after starting the car the other day i smelt fuel. looked underneath and it was spraying out of one of the fuel pipes.

Where am i able to get two new ones of these? and how much am i likely to pay? thanks very much in advance

genuine fuel lines from main dealer, cost about £15

it's only one length, but long enough for the 2 lines, and you'll need to bend it yourself

thanks mate.

dont they sell exact fit jobbies with the right end connections? Ideally im after a direct replacement, as one of the current ones has so many hoses connecting it where its obviously been rotten and the previous owner bodged it together.

also how hard are they to replace?

Fairly easy, just long winded to change. Hardest bit is undoing the unions on the bulkhead.

I replaced mine with 10m of copper pipe from B&Q, cost £10 I think. Used 2 petrol pipe jubilee clips on each flexi and its been spot-on since. Just got to be careful with copper tube, as if your a bit heavy forming the run, the walls can collapse.

baided is an option but if u do go for PTFE lined lines not nitrile rubber inside the car. the rubber stuff smells and can cause headaches etc.. no smell with ptfe.. the rubbers alright to use under the engine bay tho.. and more flexable for tighter loops needed runnin round the engine.

PTFE lines will require the propper fittings tho as they DO NOT clamp down using jubilee clips.

will have to post a blog soon showing mine.

I've had those lines on for over a year now including a good thrashing round the 'Ring, and had no problems with them whatsoever.
