New Suspension For An Mx-5

Recommended Posts

kjd4000

Hi

My girlfrieds dad has an 1991 MX-5 and wants to change the suspension.

He uses the car everyday and it handles really well but a little harsh. So he would like something that is adjustable to suit him and has a budget of around £500. Does anyone have any experience in MX-5s, and know what to suggest?

Any help much apperciated.

Adjustable is going to be coilovers and he aint gonna get them for £500. Not half decent ones anyway.

Is he running uprated suspension at the moment? If not I think hes going to struggle getting a softer setup than what mazda orginally fitted.

If he is running aftermarket suspension and finds it to harsh, best bet is to hitch a ride in other MX-5's with (other brands/models) non adjustable aftermarket suspension (in budget) untill he finds a setup he likes. Or just switch back to standard.

I must say though coilovers FTW, tell him to stump up a little more cash:D
