Rear Brake Line Brackets?

Recommended Posts

willmounsey

I'm a bit stuck with the rear brake lines and handbrake cables.

Is there a bracket that fits onto the trailing arm that holds the copper brake line and the handbrake cable in place like the 1.6 axle does?

I've done a search but its very sensitive and i end up getting 70+ pages of treads which i've spent a few hours going through with no joy (or else im blind :lol: )

Any help will be much appreciated as this is the only thing stopping me from getting the car back on its rear wheels

Thanks again

Will

Yes - the bracket is the same as (or certainly interchangeable with) the 1.6 one and bolts on with the 13mm ARB bolt.

1.9's also have another bracket to hold the line near the caliper where it goes from solid to flexi again.

The solid to flexi bracet is there just not the other one.

I've a 1.6 axle sat so i'll take them from that just wasn't sure if they were the same as the 1.9.

thanks for that mate i can crack on once again :wub:

I think the bracket you're looking for should be fitted to the lower shock mounting bolt you can see the braided hose (just) in the picture below;

The brake pipe length is around 610mm long iirc but you can replace the flexi & just run a solid pipe right to the caliper like Peugeot did on the 306. I did this to mine a few weeks ago. Didn't make a note of the pipe length though.

This also does away with the bracket at the caliper end on the radius arm.

I reckon this is the best plan, that additional bit of flexi is pointless. I'll certainly be doing this.
