Heres my late phase 1, 1.9. Going in for a respray (cherry red) in a couple of months but doesn't scrub up too badly.

I have never owned a ph1 but have always wanted to. A ph1 non sun 1986 same year i was born...perfect. To me the ph1 dash always feels more solid but most people say the ph2s have better quality plastic.

Well here are few photos my very standard 1.6. It was bought last year with FSH and 1 owner from new. Unfortunately re-sprayed wing and door combined with faded original paint means it really needs a re-spray to bring it back to life. The beam is currently been overhauled by Tom Fenton and I hope to make minor suspension and brake tweaks, but nothing that can't be swapped back in the future.

For what it is it does go quite well.

 

I had to go up to 15" wheels to accommodate the braking system I wanted, but other than that looks a bog standard 1.6 from the outside. Retains the old school 205 quirkiness but adds the ability to surprise modern hot hatches.
