i used to do things like that all the time when i was younger, would get pulled at least 3 times per week, tax disc upside down and in the middle etc lol make the coppers work for it lol pulling me for no reason, well other than 17 year old driving an old xr2 haha or my dads carlton gsi. does that still happen to young drivers? lol

A little, but there is nothing saying i can't have it there. Mot guy never complains, and they can fail you on the tax disc. I think it's better. It's not in my view at all, hidden by my mirror.

 

I got pulled once by the fuzz in the 5 years i've had my disc there. Stupid cop couldn't see it.. How can you miss it though? It's in plain sight!

Displaying your tax disc

Your vehicle tax disc must be displayed on the passenger side (kerb side) of the vehicle’s windscreen. If there’s no windscreen or you have a motorcycle or sidecar, you should display the tax disc on the kerb side of the vehicle.

And that's the 'law' is it? The 'passenger side' is still quite vaue and open to being placed anywhere on the passenger side...!

Something about it being in the sweep of the wipers or something, can't remember now.. Was a long time ago that it got mentioned! I don't think they give a rats arse about it to be honest.

 

If you got no tax, what is there to display?! Nothing! They can't fail you for that.
