Sunroof Blanking Plate

I'm going to make my own sunroof blanking plate, just about to order the aluminium sheet, but as title really, is 1mm thick enough or do I need thicker?

what thick ness is the rest of the bodywork id at least do it that thick to be on the safe side

Hi rob,

 

I had a 2mm Alloy plate first, but found it too thick - it just didnt look right - so I went for a 1mm zinkplated steelplate - and it is perfect for the job and follows the line of the roof.
