Base Model Bump Strip Removal

ive just removed the bump strip from the side of my car im just wondering what methods people have used to remove the leftover sticky bits without damaging the paint? ive got most off one side using my thumb nails but its taken hours!!

any suggestions welcome :angry:

Have a go with some WD40, that should loosen it up a bit.

I use a wheel like THIS. Attaches to drill, quick and easy.

If its stubborn, try using some sticky badge remover solution stuff from either Halfords or any hardware store.

 

Wet a cloth with it, soak the strip line then gently rub off.. :(

white spirit and elbow grease

 

dab the white spirit on with a cloth and let it soak then it should come off with a clean cloth

 

or!! a steam cleaner

oo steam cleaner i like the sound of that :) lol. wont that wheel thingy take the paint off, as it says 'Not for use on: lacquer coatings' and wont whit spirit damage the paintwork??

Why dont you use preptone from autosmart, its fantastic, does loads of other things like de-taring your motor, its safe on paint too? :lol:

I'm ashamed to say I'd use a soft cloth soaked in 2 stroke petrol from the lawnmower's can :)
