Oil Type For 1.9gti

Guys i have tried a search bit searching 'oil' brings up no results, i guess its too short a search word.

 

Can you tell me what grade of oil i should use in the 1.9GTi please.

I will be doing the first oil change on it before it goes on the road for the 1st of May.

Decent 10/40 or 15/40 semi synth is what I would use.

I used fuchs titan syn diesel (which is a 10w40 full synthetic oil from GSF for £20 for 5 ltrs) in my Mi16. Seems pretty good and good value for a full synthetic. I'm sure someone will say it's the worng oil but seeing as diesels run much higher compression and torque then I figured it would be ok. I have a full proper oil cooler with stat and my GTi6 sump holds 6.8 ltrs!
