6 Volts To Stereo Main Power

I fitted a new stereo in the 205, I have 12v from the switched wire but only about 6v from the main feed (white IIRC)

I fed a wire directly to the battery as it said in the instalation instructions, so its not a problem, but I was wondering if its somehow connected to my starter problems.

It sometimes doesn't turn on the first turn of the key, as if not enough current is getting through. It usually just clicks once.

Could they be connected?
