Flat Spot Pt2, Lazy Reving 1.9

Recommended Posts

floodys

i have another thread on here about my lazy revving 1.9 205 8v, it basically has a flat spot too around 3-4km just to refresh i have changed

ECU

AFM's

leads, cap, rotor

ig amp

cleaned up injectors (soaked overnight in carb cleaner)

coil

ECU temp sender

etc,

we (essex lot, silky, boobies etc) had a fiddle with it over the weekend and it cough's/flat spots at around 3-4k, on the way over to boobies after weekend we richened the cr up a lot from 2% co, to around 6.5% co, this seems to make it better, crazy thing is that, the plugs dont get coked up, it do's smell of petrol, and dosnt seem to "drink" juice!! so, do i leave it like it and run it and adjust co for MOT when due or anyone out there have a idea why she will run "nice" when rich.!!

Now one last thing i have a gunson co meter and i/we (boobies) think its right because we connected it up to his car and it read spot on!!

help please guys and girls

i would check that the advance weights inside the distributor body itself are free and actually advancing when the engine is revved. if these are seized, it can make them really lazy to rev.

Is it choking at idle or under load? does it get worse under load?

Have you possibly timed up the engine wrong? Checked ignition timing?

Carb cleaner won't do for cleaning injectors :D as it can't break scale sediment which forms inside the injectors , get them cleaned on the ultrasonic machine and test them afterwards for spray pattern and flow (ideally all 4 injectors need to fill the same cc value when testing them for flow after cleaning , although +-5 % difference is acceptable) ...
