Have I Broke My Gearbox?

Recommended Posts

gti-si

Just put the gearbox back on the 205, fitted the passenger driveshaft fine and also connected up the wishbone, now coming to the drivers side, I have the driveshaft in but I just can't get the hub far enough in towards the engine to locate the wishbone ball joint. It was a pretty much brand new driveshaft but now theres slight play on the first shaft (from the hub to bearing) and it seems like the first joint is alot longer. How do I tell if the knuckles come out? It still turns the whole shaft but like I said, there's slight play and I just cant get the wishbone ball joint to locate now, as if the driveshaft is too long?

Any ideas whats happened?

Edit: I meant have I broke my driveshaft? haha

You were right dcc haha, I think frustration got the better of me! When I looked again it was obvious it wasn't seated all the way in. Was still a little tight to get the ball joint in but it went. Probably just a case of 309 driveshafts, altough I do have 309 bones aswell, who knows? It's all back together again now anyway, cheers
