Mi16 Ecu

Recommended Posts

yorkshirekowboy

hello,

i have a a yellow stickered ecu (0261200139), and a red stickered ecu (0261200125), both two row, and i was wondering if there was any differance in rev range etc.

I am currently running the yellow stickered one, so any of you found one to be better than the other ie faster 0-60 etc.

also whats the differance between the two?

thanks

dan

Edit i have searched but i keep getting error message.

I'm unsure if there is any difference between the two. I do have performance chip for the 139 that will make it come alive in the midrange however. I've tested the rev limit at 7400 but who knows with Peugoet tachos. For AUS$45 it's yours, inc. postage.

139 from Mi16x4's are my preference.

125 is my preference.
Why do you say that? Is there a difference then?

Not sure, of the 3 or 4 I've tried I prefer this ECU as it seemed to be more responsive. Worst for me was the "140".

if i tryed my other ecu, is it a case of unplugging the old one and plugging in the new one? or do i need to alter anything?

Just plug it straight in! I run a 125, feels slightly livelier than the 139 to me.

I think the 4x4 ECUs have a 7400 rev limit rather than the standard 7200 rm limit on 2wd ecus.

Other than that dont think theres a great difference so give it a try!

Wonder what changes Pug made though, the 139 came after the 125.

My theory is, the earlier the better. Unless they made some mapping improvements, I reckon it might be more for economy or emissions, regular unleaded or something.

The only thing i can think, is it coincides with the change to no.4 inlet pulleys. So its just a guess, but as the few degrees of inlet cam advance would have altered the ignition timing slightly, the 139 ecu maybe to correct the ignition timing.

Ive got an 88 engine, run 125 ecu and when i ran with the no.4 inlet pulley the idle became noticeably lumpy and fuel consumption got pooorer. So ive now swapped back the original no.2 pulley and all is well.

Just a theory anyhow.

I've run both and did notice a marginally improved idle with the 139, but the biggest difference is that coming on and off the throttle is far smoother with the 139. I found the 125 could kangaroo a bit like the old 8v system - must have changed how the fuel cut off on overrun works on the later ecu.

Apart from that both seemed to perform identically with a rev-limit of 7200rpm

I'm running a 3 row 355 chip now and the idle is improved further (even with a inlet cam), it has a little more go in the mid-range but annoyingly the rev-limit is more like 7000rpm  .

I would generally say that's what I've found; the 140 is like the 139 and it bugged the hell out of me how it controlled revs on overrun. The 125 fuel cut off isn't quite as aggressive as the 8v but is a similar feel and I prefer that.
