Clutch Fork Arm Pin

Recommended Posts

How do you remove the pin that holds the clutch cable arm thing to the fork arm? I'm talking about the pin that is threaded half way up. I presume it's driven in but can't shift it.

Also how do you get a new one in?

Cheers

You have to punch it out, it is only threaded to help drive it in. You get a new one in by punching it in and then you can get a nut on the end to pull it in the rest of the way but I find it easier just to punch it all the way in.

You can't usually punch it out, as the arm won't turn enough to let you!

The idea I think is to screw some kind of M7 device onto the threaded bit, and then use a slide hammer or similar to extract it. I usually end up cutting the end off and drilling it out!

The new one "simply" is driven in with a hammer.

I get a spacer and a M7 nut and wind it out, Well thats the theory which hardly works due to the old rust, I tend to re-fit them with the later type of pin and retaining spring as they just slide in.

Good luck drilling it out , I had as much luck with that as I did with the punch and BFH!

Just accept the inevitable, get the grinder out, chop the clutch fork in half and pay peugeot 50 quid for a new one...I did
