All 205's have the same size flange hole, thats how you can (& Peugeot did) fit 1.9 vented discs on base model hubs on the STDT.

But if you want to fit 1.6 disks to a 1.9, it wont work because the offset is different between the 1.6 and 1.9 disks. They wont sit in the cutout in the caliper slide.

I think thats right anyway, ive confused myself now! I run 1.9 calipers on my 1.6 but I have to retain 1.6 disks.

You can use 1.9 calipers with 1.9 discs on a 1.6 but you will need to use base model hubs not the 1.6 or 1.9 hubs.

Yeah, thats right, you can't fit the 1.6 disc to a 1.9 or vice-versa due to the different discs offset.

Now im totally confused  what i got on mine now cos i bought it and have not changed front set up yet, but im not sure what to buy now as i got a 1.6 with mi inside i belive its got 1.9 driveshaft and hubs as i was searching and learnt that 1.9 hubs have got two ridges cut out the face if i got it the right way round? not sure what calipers or dics are now i thought it was all 1.9 gti wishbones, hubs, calipers and discs? have i?

All 205 GTI wishbones are the same, 1.6 or 1.9 GTI but as you said the hubs are distinctive because they have a slot (two notches) in the end of the driveflange which aren't there on either the base model or 1.6 GTI hubs but they will probably have a 35mm which has a locking plate & spring clip through the driveshaft end.

If it has 1.9 hubs then it must have 1.9 discs but the calipers can still be the 1.6 GTI Bendix items.

Easy enough to tell which you have, if you look through your wheel & can see the pads in the caliper then you have Bendix imo but if its a solid caliper they are Girling 1.9 calipers.

Graham.
