New Battery Clamp

Recommended Posts

Gtiracer

the bolt seems to have sheared off that holds the battery clamp on annoyingly i havent got the tools to get it out. My battery was never that secure anyway and Im wondering if there is a different type of clamp system to hold it in place. And also does anyone have pictures of an original clamp because i don't think my one was an original type clamp.

Dont want the hassle of relocating in the boot either

Mine have always been held in that way. I think the 306 may use a hook over the top, or a battery box. MOT fail with an unsecured battery

I'd also be interested in this, my battery is not secure and it doesn't seem to have any way of being held in.

You can buy the correct ones on ebay - think I paid £2.50 recently including a new bolt. Problem I have is that the threaded hole in the battery tray no longer has any thread left! It's on the list of jobs to do.....

Must learn how to do a linky!

Thanks for the link - I had to buy 5 of these from peugeot because they dont sell them singularly. This clamp I cannot fit at the moment becuase the bolt to hold this in has sheared off. The brace before trying to use this method went over the top of the battery but that was the one i was talking about not being very secure, now i need another brace that goes over the top of the battery but using a different hole or way from the battery tray that will securely hold it in place.

Hope that makes more sense. If not i will take a picture to clarify

Get the metal plate and threaded rods type set up from a later model, or an auto. Then you can use a different hole on the engine side of the battery and titghten the nut on the rod to take up the slack.

All the late models used a proper up and over clamp, You can still buy these as well.

True but the police can prosecute you for it nonetheless.
